~The Father’s Rockstar~
Posted (PhatGurlLove) in Features, PGL Radio on October-27-2009

mrfr

Fatherhood is a community effort Fathers Rock  and they are looking for their fans to assist with naming their superhero.  Fathers Rock motto is Fatherhood the problem solver and all Superheroes solved problems from Superman, Batman, etc. Fathers and Father Figures are …no different.  So, from today until Fri. we are taking all suggestions, whoever superhero name we pick FR will give the winner a $25 American Exp. Gift card.

Next month on November the 11th wee will have a this special guest on PGL Radio. His name is Mr. Kashaun Cooper. Also known as Mr. Fathers Rock..(Christened by me of course…lol) He is the owner and creator of Father’s Rock. He is now running a contest to name their SuperHero!

Fathers Rock’s mission is to help strengthen communities by recognizing and appreciating GREAT Fathers and Father Figures through banquets, dinners, an other community events. We encourage you to nominate any OUTSTANDING Father or Father Figure to our recognition panel by writing a brief letter, 250 words or less, or sending in a video message expressing how he is a GREAT Father or Father Figure.

Recognizing Great Fathers By Gifts of Recognition such as:

Fishing Trips, yearly recognition, dinners, clothing, sports tickets, gift certificates, and quarterly awards.

Mr. FR goes on to state on his website that: “If I never become rich, famous, or own a house or fancy car, I have the greatest opportunity to make a difference in society through my children. Our children are our personalized thumbprint on the earth. The supreme investment we as fathers can make aren’t in stocks, bonds, or real estate, rather it is investing in our children. The rate of return is based on how much we invest in our children. Our success in life is too big for one generation. Consequently, our success must be passed down. One of the best things about this type of investment is that there isn’t an expiration date. Great fathering goes many generations deep.”

He exemplifies what a ROCKING FATHER should be! Stay tuned for updates on the upcoming show. To find out more information on Fathers Rock, Please click the icon below.

Glitter Text @ Glitterfy.com

Coming from my girl Angie!

Thank you so much for sharing and for being honest in your words!

Thank you for being a  P.H.A.TGurl!
Constantly I try to right the wrongs
Only to sing another sad love song.
Why am I fighting this battle alone?
Why cant I have a love to call my own?
Why cant we just live our lives as one?
Why cant the past magically become undone?
When will you see whats right before your eyes?
Why do you feed me such vicious lies?
When will you accept me as I am?
When will you ever be the better man?

Constantly I try to fix whats broke
Only to feel like there is no hope.
Why should I try to make things work?
How am I to heal all the hurt?
When will this madness ever end?
Why must I face it time and time again?
Who are you to cause me such grief?
When am I to find some relief?
Why must I begin to cry?
……Why waste my time asking you why?

~PHATKids Mentoring Program is not just for the kids…~
Posted (PhatGurlLove) in Uncategorized on October-23-2009

You know what…this video has set me off today! ~Somebody start praying and calling on Jesus~ This mess right here is ridiculous.  I cannot believe that a grown woman left her two and three year old children at home to go shopping. What in the hell was she thinking?? And the Grandma?? ~feeling faint~ Why? Why? Why is she just concerned about her purse and she actually believes that there was nothing wrong with leaving the children home alone. Are you serious? ~blank face~ Seriously?? This has done something to the very core of my being. I just want everyone that is reading this to know that children aren’t for everyone. If you know you don’t have any patience, can’t tolerate alot of noise, don’t like to change diapers, and anything that is toddler or baby related…protect yourself. Wrap it up, give it a shot, patch it..whatever you need to do so that this will not happen to you. Not to say that this is how you think, but if you can’t handle a child then don’t put yourself in the predicament to end up pregnant. I don’t belive in abortion..(even in extreme cases) but I do believe in making sure you don’t allow yourself to become a victim. Should you do..seek assistance immediately! Sign up for parenting classes in your community.  I can’t even say let Grandma help you in this situation…this chick is worried abou ther freakin FS card??? ~Clenchin my teeth~ If this…you know what…I’m not even gonna say anything…I’m completely spent. Want more info on P.H.A.T Kid’s Mentoring Program…click on the tab..provide your email address and you will be kept in the know. Want to volunteer?? Just email me. Pebbles@phatgurllove.com

~Overweight in a thin thinking world~
Posted (PhatGurlLove) in Uncategorized on October-21-2009

How has your weight affected your way of life? Have you ever NOT done anything because you were ashamed of how you would look in front of someone else. We are all guilty of judging others based on their out appearance. “Oohh look at them…they look…” etc.  I have been on both ends of the spectrum. I have often wondered what if no one cared about how I looked? What if I didn’t care? This caused me to look further inside myself and I’ve come to realize that you should care. Get up and get dressed in the mornings even when you don’t have anywhere to go. Take the time to groom yourself. It makes a difference in how you feel mentally and physically. When you see others that are out and about looking like they don’t care, build up the courage to speak to them say ” good morning or hello. You do not know how that will affect their next day when getting ready to go out. So first things first, check yourself, improve on yourself, and encourage others.

Motivate Yourself…
Posted (PhatGurlLove) in Uncategorized on October-18-2009

motivation_quotes_graphics_06

Tomorrow is Monday and I wanted to share this with everyone to jumpstart the work week!
Many people work in a job they dislike for one reason or another. So, as an alternative way to support themselves they try becoming their own boss. Home based and Internet based business are becoming the new way to work. However, if someone isn’t self motivated it can be difficult to stay focused on the work need to be done to make their business work. This can be a set back and even the downfall of their business.

How hard is it for you to get motivated and stay motivated about work?

Well here are some tips on how to make getting and staying motivated about work.

1. Plan your day – it can be difficult to be motivated when you see the clock slowly making its way from hour to hour, making it seem like eternity until 5 pm. So plan activities into your day, like the tasks you need to achieve. Also make time to stretch your legs or enjoy a drink. You will be amazed how quickly the day goes by and the things you will achieve.

2. Remain positive – office politics and/or negative colleagues can often reduce moral and make people feel demoralized and unmotivated. So what can you do to keep a positive mind – reminds yourself of the good things, such as the thank yous, the positive comments and thoughtful appreciation. Then share your positivity with others around you.

3. Manage your projects – if you are working on a project that seems overwhelming or impossible to finish, take a little extra time and break it down into manageable chunks. What can you do today to progress the project forward? Setting and achieving mini-goals will motivate you towards completing the overall project.

4. Consider what you enjoy about your job – regardless if a person is unhappy at work everyone enjoys something about their job. Take a moment and remind yourself about what attracted you to your job in the first place, what do you still enjoy and appreciate, and how it benefits other parts of you life.

5. Have something to look forward to – whether you are planning your next holiday or what you’re going to do on Friday night, schedule activities and events that you love. Or if you are working hard to afford a new car or other big expense, remind yourself of what you are doing to achieve that goal.

6. Remember that you don’t have to work flat out all of the time – make sure you take a break every so often, whether you make a pot of coffee, have a chat with one of your colleagues or do a different task

7. Take a lunch break away from your desk or working area – fresh air and exercise is a great motivator and it is good to give you time away from your work. It has the added advantage of making you feel more refreshed and more productive.

8. Delegate some work to others – delegation of the right tasks will help you to reduce your workload and will also give a new challenge to another person. Show them what to do, give them a timeframe and then let them get on with the task.

9. Set goals for your working future – if you don’t want to be in the same job in one year’s time, do something about it. Set a goal of where you want to be, and then start to work on it today. What can you do within the next two weeks to move you closer to that objective?

10. Call for help – if you are having trouble staying motivated in your job, find someone to help you. Whether you choose a colleague, friend, partner or a coach, talking about it will help you to overcome this slump and clarify what needs to change.
