Glitter Text @ Glitterfy.com

Coming from my girl Angie!

Thank you so much for sharing and for being honest in your words!

Thank you for being a  P.H.A.TGurl!
Constantly I try to right the wrongs
Only to sing another sad love song.
Why am I fighting this battle alone?
Why cant I have a love to call my own?
Why cant we just live our lives as one?
Why cant the past magically become undone?
When will you see whats right before your eyes?
Why do you feed me such vicious lies?
When will you accept me as I am?
When will you ever be the better man?

Constantly I try to fix whats broke
Only to feel like there is no hope.
Why should I try to make things work?
How am I to heal all the hurt?
When will this madness ever end?
Why must I face it time and time again?
Who are you to cause me such grief?
When am I to find some relief?
Why must I begin to cry?
……Why waste my time asking you why?

crying-woman2

Hot tears burning my eyes, I refused to cry giving in. No longer believing in happy ever after…queue the laughter. No longer trying to win, should have never got in…But trying not to sin… I let him come in and try to take over, a no limit solider. Doing what my momma said not to do. “Girl, don’t you let no man control you” I hear you mama, it’s too late I said…quieting down momma’s voice in my head. You’ve made your bed now, in it you’ve got to lay. Does that mean I have to stay? Through all of the disappointments and all of the pain…in the words of that song…through the sunshine and through the rain. Still continue to make that drive to work…I knew this shyt was gonna hurt telling him how much he is a jerk and why I should have never to that step. Trying to put back together what’s left of this relationship, no longer keeping my lips sealed…not even giving him something he can feel…it ain’t gonna happen it’s over I’m done…why do I have to keep fighting with you in front of our son. He’s looking at us with a little pain on  his face…I do not want him to be a part of the place that we’re in, I’m getting ready to leave, finally letting the tears fall, rubbing my eyes on my sleeve…I can’t continue to go through this, it’s taking away from me all of my hopes and wishes. No more sweet kisses, no more holding hands, no more wedding bands. Just emptiness where love once was. You can’t make love; you can love and be loved. Not yelling and screaming and throwing fist, not kicking and punching and having fits, all because you can’t get your way…you can’t have your say…I’ll say it for you. I’m leaving today…

The Journey
Posted (admin) in Poetry on October-5-2009

I’ve been someone that has always needed the approval of those I thought to be closest to me. I am someone who didn’t always trust others. I have sought love on both sides of the fence for affection and attention. I have played mental games and hurt others that I assumed were trying to hurt me first. I have lied and I have been too truthful to get someone to love me because I didn’t love myself. I believed what others told me only to find out they were laughing at me and talking about me behind my back. I have been promiscuous looking for love in all the wrong places, again all because I didn’t love myself. I got married to someone that I thought I didn’t deserve. This is the year 2009, where it will all end. I am letting go of these demons that have haunted me. I am going to be the person I really am and not who others want me to be. I am strong, I am loved and I love hard. I am a mother, a wife, a writer and a fighter. I speak louder now to be heard and to be understood. I no longer care what others think about me. I am learning to love myself still, which is an ever going process. But this is who I am and I am embracing it for the first time in my life. This is who I am and where I’ve been and where I am going…….

~On The Air~
Posted (PhatGurlLove) in Features, Obesity, Open Mic, Poetry, Spoken Word on September-11-2009

Phatgurllove Radio is coming soon! We will talk about all issues related to being Obese and Overweight. I will speak to BBW’s and BHM’s. We will discuss their experiences and how it has shaped their life. Dating, children, employment, and socialization are all affected when overweight. I will be playing the best of Old School, R&B, Hip-Hop, and Neo-soul radio. I am so excited about this. This has been a long time coming! There will also be an open mic session on a weeknight. (TBD) There will also be a Poem of the day related to the show topic. Sometimes there will be a co-host! I look forward to hearing from you. Please be ready to call in and share or chat with us! Below is some information that I found quite disturbing…..

FYI: Obesity by Race and Ethnicity

New Obesity Data Shows Blacks Have the Highest Rates of Obesity

Blacks had 51 percent higher prevalence of obesity, and Hispanics had 21 percent higher obesity prevalence compared with whites. (2006-2008)

Greater prevalences of obesity for blacks and whites were found in the South and Midwest than in the West and Northeast. Hispanics in the Northeast had lower obesity prevalence than Hispanics in the Midwest, South or West.

We need to do something and fast! We have a generation of children out there that need us and we must set an example for them by being able to be healthy and eat right so we can grow old with our children. Lead by example! Want to get started early? Go here and view some nice simple and HEALTHY recipes. If you know of any other sites, please leave them in the comment section and I will be sure to provide you with my review of the site and give them a shout out when on the air! Thanks to any new subscribers and thank you to the ones that have been hanging on! Your walk with me is greatly appreciated!
